Registered Veterinary Nurse – East Sussex | £30,000–£33,000
Location: East Sussex
Salary: £30,000–£33,000
Hours: Full-time or part-time
Practice: Independent
OOH: None
My independent client in East Sussex is looking for an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and caring team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, multi-award-winning independent veterinary group that places genuine emphasis on continuity of care, clinical autonomy and allowing its nurses to develop into the clinicians they want to be.
Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed, and the practice is happy to consider experienced RVNs as well as newly qualified nurses who are continuing to build their confidence.
The Role
The full-time position is 37 hours per week, with flexibility around how these hours are worked.
This could include:
4 x 9.25-hour days per week
Alternatively, similar hours spread across 5 days
Regular weekday off when working a 4-day week
1 in 3 Saturday mornings
Part-time hours considered
No OOH
Rare overtime, which is paid
Ring-fenced lunch breaks wherever possible, with missed breaks paid
The practice takes a flexible approach to working patterns and is happy to discuss arrangements that work for both the successful RVN and the wider team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Your role will include:
Running nurse consultations
Assisting Veterinary Surgeons in theatre and consultations
Inpatient care
Patient admissions and discharges
Running laboratory samples
Managing your own clinical workspace
Supporting work-experience students

About You
The practice is looking for a confident and motivated RVN who enjoys working collaboratively while taking responsibility for their own workload and patients.
You'll need:
RCVS registration as an RVN
Good communication and organisational skills
A genuine commitment to excellent patient and client care
Confidence working as part of a close-knit clinical team
Enthusiasm for continuing to develop your nursing skills
Newly qualified RVNs are also encouraged to apply, particularly those looking for a supportive independent environment in which to continue developing their medical and surgical nursing confidence.
The Practice
The role is predominantly based within one of the group's smaller village clinics.
Across the coastal sites, facilities include:
Digital radiography
Digital dental radiography

Multiparameter monitoring
In-house IDEXX laboratory equipment

The practice strongly values continuity of care, allowing its clinical team to develop meaningful relationships with patients and their owners rather than treating each visit in isolation.
Nurses are encouraged to develop their own interests, pursue their professional goals and use their clinical judgement without the pressure of financial or corporate targets.
